I know I don't know him, but as a fan of his work I feel that I'd like to show some support to
who is the latest of many deviants to feel the sharp end of deviantART's confusing and unfair policies. It really is time that the administrators of deviantART swallowed their pride and got together to form a fair and easy to understand policy on suitable submissions, instead of resorting to indiscriminate and seemingly random banning. There also really needs to be a better system for contesting a decision...
After all, who are they to decide what constitutes 'art'? Of course there must be some rules, but it seems that not only are the rules of deviantart pretty poorly defined, but they also seem to apply more strongly to some users than others based, presumably on the individual administrator's opinion of what is or is not admissable as 'artistic'. It is common to see some users produce overtly sexual work for many years, while others get banned for their first such piece.
Anyway, I hope this situation resolves itself and that the admins make the right choice. After all, even if a long-term member does overstep the boundaries of the rules, is it really fair to ban them completely? Simply removing the offending piece is more than enough surely.
Thankyou,
for the artwork you have submitted, and I hope things work out for the best!
in his own words:
"Thank you everyone for your support. The deviantART admins have advised me not ask you all to contact them about this matter. They say that your opinion does not matter in this case. YOU, THE COMMUNITY MEMBERS, DO NOT MATTER IN THIS CASE!!! Says something about the direction of DA doesn't it?
I fully expect to be removed from dA over this. In case I am, I just wanted to say thank you to all of you for your support. Not just your support in this instance but for all your great support throughout the years. Whatever happens here, I will still be posting images on my own website, free of censorship. I hope those who stay on deviantART are able to affect some change to make the policy enforcement more consistent. If you find yourself a dA admin one day and you are able to affect some change (and you'd like to ask me back to the community) I'd love to be here again.
Take care everyone. Be excellent to each other!
